At Macaroni KID The Woodlands - Montgomery, we love celebrating local moms who are strengthening families, serving their communities, and turning meaningful ideas into action. This August, we are honored to introduce Giewee Hammond, a wife, mother, community advocate, and founder of Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy.

Located in The Woodlands, Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy is a teacher-led hybrid Christian academy serving students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Its mission is to help families redeem meaningful time together while raising children who know Christ, pursue excellence, and live with purpose.

Meet Giewee Hammond

Giewee and her family have proudly called The Woodlands area home for more than six years. During that time, they have grown to love both the community and the families who make it such a special place to live and raise children.

Watching her own children grow caused Giewee to begin asking a different question about education. Rather than focusing only on how schools could help children accomplish more, she began considering whether education was also helping families become stronger together.

She became convinced that children need an education rooted in Christ, marked by excellence, and lived out with purpose. She also believed families should have opportunities to enjoy more meaningful time together.

That conviction became the foundation of Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy.

When Career Experience Meets a New Calling

For many years, Giewee worked in the oil and gas industry, first with an operator and later with an international robotics company. During her career, she led digital transformation and business systems initiatives.

That experience taught her how to create systems, manage complex projects, and build with intention. Becoming a wife and mother, however, changed what she wanted to build.

Like many parents, Giewee experienced the tension of trying to do everything well. She wanted to provide for her family, invest in her career, and give her children opportunities to learn, explore, and grow. At the same time, she did not want a full schedule to replace meaningful family connection.

She recognized that some of the most important moments in a child’s life do not happen inside a classroom. They happen around the dinner table, during everyday conversations, while serving together, and through the quiet faithfulness of parents pointing their children toward Christ.

A Different Approach to Christian Education

Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy offers a three-day, teacher-led Christian academy model for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

Students attend campus three days each week for engaging instruction in core elementary subjects. Home days include age-appropriate, project-based learning that students complete primarily on their own, allowing parents to encourage and support their children without becoming their primary teachers.

Every subject is taught from a biblical worldview using carefully selected Christian curriculum. The academy’s model is designed to provide academic rigor while creating space for meaningful family time, independent learning, and spiritual growth.

Community Enrichment Through Robotics and Spanish

Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy also offers Community Enrichment Tracks in Robotics and Advanced Spanish for children ages 6 and older.

These programs are open to children from every educational background, including public schools, private schools, charter schools, homeschool programs, and hybrid academies.

Each track gives children an opportunity to build practical skills, make new friends, and learn alongside families from across the community in a positive, Christ-centered setting.

Families enroll in one enrichment track and may attend that same track up to three times each week, providing up to 24 hours of instruction each month. This consistent participation allows children to strengthen their skills and make meaningful progress.

Serving Families Before the First School Day

Even before opening its doors to students, Seeds & Fruits Christian Academy began serving local families through community events at the Kevin Brady Library.

From sensory play and robotics activities to family-centered gatherings, these events have allowed Giewee and her team to begin building relationships, encouraging local families, and sharing the heart behind the academy.

The experiences have reinforced Giewee’s belief that education is about more than academics. It is also about investing in children, supporting parents, and strengthening the community.

The Most Rewarding Part of the Journey

For Giewee, one of the most rewarding discoveries has been realizing that building a school and building a family do not have to compete with one another.

Every decision she has made while creating Seeds & Fruits has been shaped by the same question she asks as a mother:

Knowing that her work can serve other families in the same way she hoped it would serve her own has been deeply meaningful.

Building a Life Around What Matters Most

Giewee does not spend much time chasing perfect balance. Instead, she creates systems that support the kind of life she wants to live.

When the most important commitments already have a place in her schedule, she is less likely to sacrifice family time when life becomes busy.

Her advice to other moms is to decide what matters most first and then build routines around those priorities.

What She Loves About Raising a Family in The Woodlands

Giewee loves the combination of God’s creation and God’s people throughout The Woodlands.

The trees and peaceful natural beauty make the community a wonderful place to raise a family. She is also grateful to be surrounded by believers who genuinely love Christ and care deeply about their families and neighbors.

A Global Passion for STEM Education

Giewee’s commitment to education extends far beyond The Woodlands. She founded Wahjay-STEM in the United States to expand STEM education opportunities for children in Liberia.

That work eventually led to a TEDx Talk in which she shared why she believes boys and girls are strongest when they learn, innovate, and solve problems together.

Today, seeing students from that program pursue engineering degrees reminds her that investing in children often bears fruit long after the original work is finished.

Looking Toward the Future

Giewee’s greatest hope is that every family Seeds & Fruits serves, including her own, grows to have a genuine relationship with Christ.

She hopes that through that relationship, Jesus will continue to transform their hearts, shape their pursuit of excellence, and lead them into the purpose He has for each of their lives.

As the academy prepares to welcome its first students, Giewee prays that Seeds & Fruits will become a trusted partner for families seeking an education rooted in Christ and committed to excellence.

“If, years from now, parents can look back and say they not only received an excellent education for their children but also truly enjoyed being a family, I’ll know we’ve accomplished what we set out to do.”

Giewee encourages local moms to remember that academic success is important, but it is not the only measure of a child’s growth.
